Youth may not be able to get the job of their dreams until they’re at least 18, but  it can be ripped away long before that.

When a youth as young as 14 years old  is charged as an adult, he or she lives with the repercussions of having of an adult criminal record for the rest of their life. Their record will exclude them from employment, higher education and financial aid, and housing opportunities, even if they have completed their time.

If a youth is held accountable in the juvenile system they will get the treatment they need to return to the community as a productive member and they won’t have a public record that stops them from obtaining the job of their dreams.
